Essence Center is a wellness center located in Holon.
The design is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic and their belief that the body goes through a process of emptying and concentration and thus it reaches a state of zen.
The center incorporates spiritual elements of a temple that illustrate a process that empowers the body and mind.
Entrance
For the entrance i designed monumental transparent doors with wooden profiles that simulates a feeling of entering a temple.
Meditation room
The two meditation rooms, located on each side of the center's space, are designed with minimal elements, to ensure practitioners a relaxing environment.
Both rooms combine James Turrell's lighting fixtures, known for their therapeutic values, which he designed precisely for meditation purposes.
Pilates studio
In addition to the meditation rooms, there are two yoga and two pilates studios.
In these spaces the motifs from the traditional Japanese house returns and receive a lighter and modern interpretation.
I planned the center in a way that the training rooms are placed around while the collaborative areas (the entrance, the store and the coffee shop) are in the center.
In addition, I placed a partition to create a separation between the studios from the collaborative areas.
